The modern male is struggling*, and there is a severe lack of organizations advocating for him in the public arena. That’s where Washington Initiative for Boys and Men comes in.

Our work focuses on matters in Washington, but our accomplishments have national implications. For example, if we succeed in influencing legislators to establish a Washington State Commission on Boys and Men, it may pave the way for other state governments to do the same. (Learn about the path forward for successfully establishing a state-level commission focused on boys and men’s issues.)

Please follow our work by subscribing to our email list, and contact us to offer your support. Everyone can help in some way.

*Males are more likely to be homeless; to kill ourselves; to overdose on drugs and alcohol; to end up in youth detention and prisons; to fail to complete high school; to lack a parent of the same sex in our house growing up; to lack access to our children when we are parents; to be seriously injured or killed while earning money; and we’re severely underrepresented in some professions of public importance, like teaching, social work, and mental healthcare.
